AN OLD DOCK,made safe again.
A dock fails from the water up: the pilings and the framing go before the boards do. We look at what is under the deck boards before quoting a repair, because new boards on rotten joists fail again.
We re-deck docks, replace pilings and joists, and rebuild a dock on its old footprint when repair is past making sense. You get told plainly which of the three your dock needs and what each one costs.
- New decking on a sound frame
- Pilings and joists replaced
- A rebuild on the old footprint
- Repair and rebuild priced separately
QUESTIONS ABOUTdock repair.
Can a boat dock be repaired or does it have to be rebuilt?
Both are real answers and the frame decides which. Loose or rotten boards on sound pilings are a repair. Pilings that have rotted at the waterline or a frame that moves underfoot are a rebuild, and past a point that is cheaper than patching. We look under the boards before quoting either.
How long does a dock repair take?
Re-decking is the quickest of the three jobs. Replacing pilings or rebuilding takes longer, and a rebuild waits on its permit. You get the dates with the written price.
Does Grain & Co. repair docks in Cape Coral?
Yes. Dock repairs and rebuilds are done across Southwest Florida, from Tampa to Marco Island.
Can the old dock's pilings be reused?
Sometimes. A piling that is solid below the waterline and not leaning can carry a new frame. One that is soft at the waterline cannot, and it comes out. We check each one before the price is written.
